Merchanting on Runescape takes several key factors, knowledge and experience, and though while both may come hand in hand occasionally there are some things that you just need to be told. Finding good merchanting items to use on Runescape isn't easy, but there are usually a few key things that you must look for.The Grand Exchange has buying limits that restrict how much you can buy any item in the game, for most expensive weapons and armor this is around ten items per four hours, but it can vary depending on what the item is. You need to be merchanting an item which you can invest a serious amount of gold in within that 4 hour slot. RSPS Ten Dharok's armour sets for example would be a good choice, they cost around 10 million gp and so you can invest 100 million gold in just 4 hours. If you were looking at an item such as a dragon scimitar, it's only worth 100k so in 4 hours you could only put in a million gold. You can generally expect returns of around 5-10% and so making 50k-100k on the dragon scimitar is clearly a pretty poor investment. On the other hand if your good merchanting items are worth a high value you can expect a good return - for example you'd make 5-10million gold on those Dharok's sets. You must pick an item which you can invest around 10-100 million gold in within 4 hours, but also one which is bought and sold regularly.
