Social distancing tips led to in response to the pandemic made the conventional operation of a simulation centre with restricted floor area impossible. To continue offering training to a better number of candidates, strategies for recreating the simulation experience with remote candidates had been devised and explored:A: Conversational avatar over Zoom.Utilizing streaming software, our pre-current conversational avatar is introduced on a Zoom name for conversational simulation with remote candidates.B: Gameplay type situations on CenarioVR.Candidates navigate a clinical room surroundings with buttons and menus to undertake a situation. The system tracks inputs to progress the situation.C: Remote In-Ear (RIE) teaching.Using a wireless earbud, candidates communicate remotely with centre employees (‘operatives’) who comply with the directions given by candidates watching a reside Zoom feed. Three variations had been explored:C1: Candidates remotely watch the feed whereas related to an operative by an audio call.C2: Candidates message their target operative on Zoom and text-to-speech software program reads these messages to the operatives. Minecraft vanilla servers C3: Zoom breakout rooms/separate WhatsApp video calls connect candidates to focus on operatives, where candidates see from the operative’s perspective by way of a head-mounted camera.D: Digital environmentsD1: Non-public Worlds within VRChat host situations.D2: GOSH’s Minecraft server hosts situations.Proposals were scored 0-10 in: Team Interactivity, Fidelity, Range of Scenarios and Ease of Implementation. Summed whole scores have been:C3=32, C1=29, C2=27, A=26, B=20, D1=19, D2=10So far, essentially the most viable options have been trialled. Minecraft vanilla servers Avatar use over Zoom proved straightforward to arrange and programs using it are deliberate.RIE coaching’s trial sessions had operatives reporting communication inefficiencies. In response, the model was revised: the wider group now coaches the entire room over Zoom. Minecraft vanilla servers Gameplay scenarios are still underneath construction. Externally produced scenarios are being scrutinised.
