Since 1.14 Village and Pillage, Minecraft villages have seen a dramatic change. There has been a complete overhaul of how trading works as well as the economy of items and the roles each villager takes on. This guide will provide an in-depth outline of how you can manage the villager's trades. You will be able to determine the most efficient method to acquire the items that you need by the end. Let's get going! How Many Villager Jobs are There in Minecraft? There are currently 15 villager positions available in Minecraft. This list contains the various jobs a villager could take. You can put the job block that corresponds to the job you're looking for next to the Unemployed Villager if you want to apply for an opportunity. MINECRAFT EVENTS SERVERS will determine the trades they offer. Villagers can be removed from their job block if you do not have a villager who is unemployed. If you don't get the desired trades from a villager, you can break the job block and put it back down to reload their trades. Different types of villagers are available in Minecraft Armorer - Offers armor and even Chainmail. Job Block: Blast Furnace Butcher - Offers emeralds and cooked food. Job Block Smoker Cartographer - Provides maps and banner paterns. Cartography Table is the Job Block Cleric - Offers magic items and even Bottle of Enchanting. Job Block: Brewing Stand Farmer - Offers a variety of food products and even brewing supplies. Job Block: Composter Fisherman - Offers fish, and even an magical Fishing Rod. Job Block: Barrel Fletcher offers bows and arrows as well as flint, and even Tipped Arrows. Job Block: Fletching Table Leatherworker – Offers leather armor, horse armour, and even saddles. Cauldron is the block that is used for job. Librarian Offers Enchanted Books and even Name Tags. Job Block: Lectern Mason - Offers bricks and blocks in cut versions. Job Block Stonecutter Nitwit - Offers absolutely nothing. Essentially useless. Job Block N/A Shepherd - Offers a variety of colors of wool and paintings. Job BLock: Loom Toolsmith - Provides tools of various quality, including magical! Job Block: Smithing Table Unemployed Offers nothing, but may be employed. Job Block N/A Weaponsmith - Sells Iron and Diamond Swords/Axes, even the enchanted! Grindstone is the job block Villager Appearance: Villagers' jobs will change depending on their work, but villager appearances will vary in every biome. They maintain the traits specific to their job so that each job is distinct. For example all Farmers wear straw hats and all Librarians wear glasses. Trading in stocks Mojang introduced the fantastic concept of 'Supply and Demand' in Mojang 1.14. This means that if trade is carried out too frequently and the villager run short of inventory, but prices (the amount of items/emeralds that you need to give) will rise. Trades can be done around four times before stock runs out. Villagers will replenish their stock once a day. The price of an item can decrease when it's not traded. Unlocking Trades: Both players and villager gain experience when they trade. As the villager's skill level increases to a certain level, the next level of trades is unlocked. There are five levels of trades for each villager to unlock better quality items. A villager's level is indicated by a colored badge on their clothing. It can be found from Novice(Stone), Apprentice(Iron), Journeyman(Gold), Expert(Emerald) all the way to Master(Diamond). Wandering Trader It might seem odd, but it is true that there is a villager that is very different from the other villagers. The Wandering Trader is a passive mob, just like the Villagers in general, but it appears randomly throughout the world with seemingly no pattern at all. It is equipped with two trading llamas which are similar to normal llamas but with a slight cosmetic modification. Another distinctive feature of this Villager is the absence of trading levels. This means that any trades you've rolled with him will be yours for the duration of time. Fear not though, for his trades will reset the next time he spawns in. The trades of the Wandering Trader are often obscure and difficult to locate. While not very impressive or powerful but they are still worth a look. The Wandering Trader disappears after 40-60 minutes. Popularity: As a player, you have some level of fame. This is decreased by performing negative actions like attacking villagers however, it is increased by trading often or curing zombie villager. Negative actions increase prices while positive actions decrease them. Let's say that Illagers attack your village without warning. You are in the vicinity and you are able to fend off the attack. You will be rewarded with the 'Hero Of The Village' status effect which will further lower the cost of trade (except for trades that cost 1 emerald.) These are the basic principles of Villager Jobs and trading in villages. You should now be able to manage your villager farm with ease! Mojang is known to tear the rug under our feet quite often. Trading can be more complicated due to Supply & Demand mechanics and popularity functions. You can exploit these features to either greatly assist you, or make trading a mess on your Minecraft server. I hope you find this guide useful. I wish you the best and good luck!
